A wedding can be bittersweet when a loved one has gone on before your special day. I lost my dad and my son a couple of years before I got married. Walking down the aisle without them there to witness that occassion was extremely difficult but I found ways to honor them. It was my intention to have a blown up picture of my dad on an easel at the end of the aisle so he would still be there when I said I do. Unfortunately weather did not permit that. I had a candle with the face of my son on the glass that was lit and glowed through out my reception. There are many ways to honor those that have gone on and I have listed a few
1. Carry a piece of them with you down the aisle. Your grandmother's favorite handkerchief, your grandpa's favorite pin, a brooch from a your great aunt. Little keepsakes that you can carry on your person as you walk to your future
2. Add a table of momentos, pictures, snowglobes, little dolls. Something to represent each person that has gone on.
3. A single white candle in a special candle holder with their name carved in it bathed in sweet oils to remember the sweet memories you share
4. Play their favorite song and dance in their honor.
5. Prepare a speech to recognize them and toast in their honor
These are just a few ways to remember those who are gone but not forgotten
